6 Common No Brainer Tips to Solve Debt Problems

If you find yourself stuck in a quandary of debt problems, with nowhere to go, and no place to hide, confused, and unsure what to do, never fear! As long as you are hopeful, there will always be a way to get rid of those pesky debt problems. Nobody wants to go into debt, and yet many of us find ourselves up to our ears in bad debt anyway. Why is this? Why has the world neglected to teach us how to handle our money? No matter what we did to get into debt, it’s up to us to escape it. Here are six common tips that could help you effectively get rid of that nasty debt.

The six common tips are stop spending money needlessly, create a budget, start saving money, find out where your money is going, ask for help, find a way to make more money, and rejoice at your freedom. Yes, that’s actually seven things, because the last comes after the first six. After all, everyone wants to celebrate their freedom after paying off their debts right?

The first tip is pretty obvious. Stop spending money on things you don’t need. Sometimes we think we need something, but we have the capability to live without it. Stuff like air, a roof over our heads, food and water, these kinds of things we need to survive. Something that’s not necessary is television, air conditioning, and a car. Yes, it’s completely true. In most cases, you can find another way to entertain yourself, you can fan yourself by folding a piece of paper, and you can carpool. It may be uncomfortable but getting out of debt is only a temporary mindset. If you can’t crunch now, you’re probably not going to escape.

Secondly, you need to create a budget so you know when and where your money goes somewhere. This is closely related to the first and fourth tips, where you stop spending money on stuff you don’t need, and you find out where your money is currently going. If you have to look for ways to cut down on stuff you don’t need, just remember that we only use 20% of what we have, so there’s a high chance that you have something you can sell. If you just don’t have anything to sell, then you’re just going to have to make more money(tip number 6).

The third tip is take a small portion of everything you make and sock it away for a rainy day. Even if it feels like you don’t need to, just start saving. Even if you start small, after a few months it will add up. It’s also necessary to have money in the bank for the sake of easing your mind. Having no money period because you spent it all is bound to make anyone go crazy.

Fourth tip, most of the time, we have no idea how much money we are actually spending on things. If we buy something as a daily ritual, like a cup of coffee, that four bucks every day will really add up over time. If we can find a way to cut it out, you’ll be able to save that money instead. For a month, record every expense you make. You just may be surprised on how much you actually spend on common items such as gas, groceries, or entertainment.

The next tip is to ask for help. Put away that pride and ask others for help. One of your options is to look for a debt relief program that can help you take control of that debt. If at all possible, a good debt relief company can help you so that you don’t need to take out a loan to get rid of your debt. If you take out a loan, you have two choices. Borrow from a loan company with high interest rates or borrow from family and friends. Just know that if you must take out a loan, and you ask family members or friends, be aware that in all likelihood, you’re not going to pay them back. That’s usually how life works. You either take out a high interest loan, that puts you back into debt and you end up borrowing from Peter to pay Paul, or you take out a low interest loan. Obviously, you should pay back your loan from family and friends, but who are we kidding? Most people aren’t going to do that.

Are you getting bored yet? No worries, we’re almost finished. The sixth tip is to find a way to make more income. For most people, that means getting another job. For those that can’t afford to get another job, that means finding other ways to make money such as selling all of your belongings, using the internet to make money, or finding a talent you can be paid doing. If nothing else, ask yourself why you can’t get another job. You don’t have to find a full time one, there are plenty of jobs that pay you by the day or for each commission you can sell. (product selling based jobs)

Did you make it all the way through the list? If so, congratulations! Give yourself a pat on the back and rejoice. Keep it up and you will eventually taste the sweet taste of victory! If you can change your money habits to match your new lifestyle, you won’t even realize how much you were spending, and being out of debt will feel spectacular! The only left after getting out of debt and not falling into the same habits is to save for retirement. It may take a few years to escape that debt but take heart that you will eventually escape, which is something that few people ever do. Ever.
