Self Motivation is the Best Ingredient for Success
The best ingredient for success if the ability to motivate yourself. If you notice the behaviors of every successful person, it’s because they are able to keep going despite the setbacks in life. Supportive friends and family are a bonus but not everyone has those. Not to mention that if you are always negative, then even with supportive friends, you are probably not going to succeed.
Having someone else motivate you is great and all, but it doesn’t last. If you aren’t able to motivate yourself, it’s a long road ahead of you for whatever you do in life. Having a want is one thing, but being able to go after your dreams is another thing entirely. If you want it to happen, you have to take action. Wanting your life to change but doing nothing means you will get the same results you have always gotten. Most people that have the desire will motivate themselves automatically but someone that hasn’t gotten to the breaking point yet won’t change their behavior. If someone doesn’t want to change, then no amount of badgering from someone else will make that happen. Many people say they want to change, but very few actually go through with it. Which kind of person are you?
Different people have different methods of motivation and depending on how well you know a person, will determine whether or not your efforts will work on them. Even if you succeed, motivation doesn’t tend to last long. It tends to fade really fast and unless they want to change badly enough, then with enough time, they’ll go back to their old habits, make excuses, or sabotage themselves with their own negativity. There is a reason why most people are average. Are you the same? It’s very likely that you are not, if you are reading this article. It’s because deep down inside, you really want to change. If you do, then at least there’s hope for you. Sometimes hope is all that it takes in order to change.
If you are willing to change, if you are past the breaking point, if you don’t want to live life the same way you’ve been living, then it’s time to start changing your mindset. Chances are that you programmed your mind to be negative or prone to failure, but the good news is that you can change that. Here’s how. Your mind’s subconcious is programmed by the thoughts that you think. So if you want to become successful, simply think like a successful person would.
Of course, that’s easier said than done. After all, if that was that easy, everyone would do it. The thing is, you have to actively keep away the negative thoughts and replace them with positive thoughts instead. Reinforce the behavior with good habits and take action. Repeat this process long enough and you’ll start becoming the person you want to be. Be forewarned that in times of stress, you’ll start reverting back to old habits. Simply take a deep breathe, don’t let the temptation drag you down, and keep on reinforcing the good habits. Soon, it will get easier and you’ll start being able to motivate yourself. If you don’t motivate yourself, chances are that no one else will either.
